Some pretty good comments here. It does feel sometimes like a lot of contemporary worship songs are written from a “Jesus is my boyfriend” point of view.

Hadn't really thought about why so many of the songs are uncomfortable ... this makes perfect sense.
Just had to forward it on to Mike who's taking a class on worship at Bible college. Don't you wish you could have this kinda of ammunition in our days at Mountain View, Glenn? :)
Saw Mike today. Only one week into college and he's already enjoying stirring up discussions. I guess I've passed on the Penner torch.
