Final posting

As many of will already know, Glenn went home to be with the Lord yesterday, Jan. 26/10 around 7:00 in the evening.  Since Saturday, when he came to understand that he wasn't going to win this battle, Glenn set his face towards the end as determined as he lived his life - with focus.  As you can imagine, it is a profoundly (is that a word??) sad for the me, our kids and families.  Thank you so much for all your love and support through this extremely hard and tiring journey.  We continue to covet your prayers as we adjust to life without Glenn.

Lots of love,

Denita for all of us (Joel, Becky and David)

Glenn had a great impact on many of us with his passion for those being persecuted and for truth. Humanly speaking he left us too soon. May we pick up the torch and go forward. My prayers are with you, Denita, Joel, Becky and David. Your loss is so much greater than ours. May His grace be sufficient for you and may you find that His strength is made perfect in your weakness. He is the God of all comfort. Love, Eunice

there are no word to express how wefeel . as I said in my last note He won big , but you lost big. this was Glen that he lived his life with a focus in all he did We so admired and loved him The Voice of the Martyrs seems so empty without Glen Penner May your comfort be that He is in the presence of His Maker who he served with all his being. Also he has the joy of meeting all the persecuted christians who died for their faith in that beautifull place called Heaven
May God bless and comfort you Denita Joel Becky and David

I don't really know what to say to you at a time of such sorrow. May the Lord Himself speak encouragement and rest to your hearts. You, too, have fought a good fight, with Glenn.

The God of all comforts will pour His comforts into your hearts. he only knows how. You will experience His presence in the midst of your pains.

I'm sorry.

But I rejoice at the remembrance of a valiant soldier of Christ, brother Glenn, who never shun the Cross in the midst of pain. He is now beyond all pain. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.

Dear Denita,
Like Jeanette, we have never met you or Glenn in person - yet - but have been following and praying for you both. I have learned much about suffering and the plight of our brethren around the world through the diligent and profound ministry that Glenn had and look forward to meeting you both one day when we can, together, gaze on the One whose face we all long to see.

Praying for you still, and your family,

I am very sad over your loss. Indeed, not only your loss but the Church's loss. However, what is our loss is the Lord's gain - another hero of the faith is home with his Blessed Lord. I will keep everyone in the family in my prayers.

There is nothing more honorable than to leave this life being known as a "Man of God." Glenn Penner is one of those and the commitment he lived toward the advancement of the Gospel is a reflection of the love he had to share. Our prayers to his family, world wide. Denita - I have never met yourself or Glenn, but I can tell you that great man of God has had a profound impact on my life as I know he has on so many others.

I am very saddened to read this last post and I can't imagine what you and your children are going through right now. May our Lord give you the strength and comfort you so need at this incredibly painful time. He is ever faithful - even in the most excruciatingly painful times. If there is anything Glenn Penner taught us all by his example it was exactly that: God is ever faithful . . .

We know he is rejoicing with God and has heard those precious words "Well done, my good and faithful Servant."

I want to thank you, Denita, for supporting Glenn and allowing him to be the blessing that he has been for so many. I've never met you, but I know that in order for Glenn to have had the ability and freedom to touch all those lives, there must have been an incredible woman behind him, praying for and supporting him.

Thank-you and may God's loving arms hold you and yours during this very difficult time.

- Sandie

What a great loss to your family, and the body of Christ still here on this earth.
May God comfort you at this time, knowing he is whole, healthy and fellowshipping with the Lord - and the saints that have gone on before.
I'm so sorry for your loss.

Denita and children,
We were so sad to hear of Glenn's passing. Now he is able to meet those Christians for whom he has laboured all those years, but above all he is able to see the Lord face to face. We pray that you will be comforted and encouraged by the Lord as you adjust to life without him.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You are all in my prayers. I met Glenn once at the Edmonton VOMC prayer conference 2 years ago. He wasn't feeling good that day, but he did a fantastic job as a presenter anyway. I sure thought a lot of him. May the God of all comfort supply all your needs at this sad time.

I told Ryan that Uncle Glenn wasn't here on earth anymore. Immediately and without any prompting at all, he smiled and looked/motioned up. I said, "You're right! He's with Jesus!"
(For those that don't know, Ryan is Glenn's disabled nephew.)

oh, Denita, there are no words, I know, you have probably already heard them all. But know that I am praying for you and your kids, and all of those in Glenn's extended family. The peace that passes understanding, and always in your hearts the reminder that we do not grieve as those who have no hope. Grieving is acceptable and necessary and I pray you are allowed to do just that, grieve, until you are ready to move on in God's timing, in God's will. God bless you all.

Our hearts are with you in this loss. We are so sorry to hear of this pain and burden on you and will continue to pray for you all, for Christ's Joy and Peace (not as this world) to rest gently and firmly on you in the days ahead. Glenn encouraged me and strengthened me in my desire to serve Christ and I honor him and you greatly. I am glad he is with our Lord now and can rest in peace from his pain and anguish.

Dear Denita, Joel, Becky and David - we are saddened to hear that Glenn has died. While our heads know the verses upon verses that reassure us of Glenn's brilliant homecoming in heaven, our hearts grieve because we're still here, and we can't see him or hear his voice any longer.
We are praying for you, and hope that you will feel God's presence and comfort, and know with certainty that your extended family cares for you.

May Jesus bless you all so very much!! I saw Glenns VOM video week before last and began praying for him and you all. My faith was encouraged to hear him share openly about his cancer situation. I trust Glenn is very happy, feeling well and at peace now. I pray you will be comforted by the Holy spirit and the Lord will lead you in his plans. I know one day I will get to meet Glenn face to face in Glory!!

Love n Lots of prayers,

What jarring news that Glenn has passed on. VOM in the states has a painting that shows a brother being held in the arms of Jesus. . . Glenn is one who has been well received into heaven, with a "Well done, good and faithful servant!"

I met Glenn only once here in Jersey, he was speaking to a group here and talked with him afterwards. . . he was kind to wait around. What I remember of him is his firm stand in the Lord and his heart for others.

He will be missed. . . his testimony of Christ shined. My prayers are for you and your family. May your grief be lightened knowing how much he touched others.

I had the privilege of meeting Glenn when he offered to come speak to the nonprofit board that I head, to help us to learn more about another issue close to his heart: dependency in missions. We are saddened today for your family, Denita. We'll be lifting you up in prayer. The Lord is holding you in the palm of His hand.

I had the privilege of meeting Glen when he came to Sri Lanka for a conference. God’s strength and His mercy and love were evident as I saw him and I heard Him talk. I cannot remember fully the contents of the seminar but I remember him. He was in pain oft and on yet, he was strong and stood up to the task. We here in Sri Lanka have been praying for him and you, and the family.
We remembered you in our prayers today as well. May God continue to strengthen you and your children. I know it may not be the place to say this, as I do not know you personally, yet, I feel I must. God blessed your family, not just with each of you, but with love and also times of hardship, which you now look back to and see God at work. Though Glen is not with you, he has lead each of you to a stronger belief in our Lord. (I am penning my thoughts as I feel led to).
My prayer for you is that, God would now draw closer, strengthen more and in the quietest moments and hardest times, that He would whisper in your ears. God is an ever present help.
May God bless you all. My prayers are with you.

Dear Denita and family.

I was very saddened when I heard that Glen has passed on but very relieved that he is free from his illness and pain now. But my heart aches for you over such a great loss and I'm praying for you that God should embrace you and comfort you.Glen always encouraged me by quoting that God has all things in control. We have to believe by faith now and except that word. May his memories live on in you.
Praying and thinking of you.
